The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine issued the penalty to “Gazprom” for the sum about $ 3.4 billion for alleged abuse of dominant position on the market of gas transit, saying that they would go to court in the event of non-payment.
KYIV, 22 Jan. The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) intend to apply to the court for the enforcement of collection of debt from the company “Gazprom” in case of non-payment within two months, said the first Deputy head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Mariya Nizhnik.
Earlier Friday, the head of AMKU Yury Terentyev said that the Ministry issued the penalty to “Gazprom” at 85 billion hryvnia (about 3.4 billion dollars) for abuse of dominant position on the market of transit of gas.
“In accordance with the law, Gazprom has two months from receipt of the decision in order to voluntarily pay the penalty amount. If he paid, this one case, if not — then can go to court to appeal against this decision. But if will not go to court, then, of course, the Antimonopoly Committee will be sought enforcement of the decision,” said Nizhnik, on air of TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
