The Kyrgyz government previously denounced the agreement with Russia on the construction of the upstream Naryn HPP cascade. The amount of investment in the project amounted to approximately $ 37 million.
MOSCOW, 22 Jan. RusHydro hopes to see the implementation of the Kyrgyz party’s obligations under the intergovernmental agreement on the construction of the upstream Naryn HPP cascade, which provides that in the event of termination of the Kyrgyz side by the Russian side compensates for the incurred expenses, reported RIA Novosti in the press service of the company.
The project of construction of the upstream Naryn HPP cascade was implemented “RusHydro” in accordance with the intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Kyrgyzstan. “This agreement provides that in the event of termination of the Kyrgyz side compensates for the incurred expenses by the Russian side”, — reminds a press-service.
RusHydro hopes to see the implementation of the Kyrgyz party’s obligations under the intergovernmental agreement. As stated at the meeting of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic, Deputy economy Minister Nurlan Sadykov, Kyrgyzstan intends to return to Russia invested in the construction of the upper Naryn cascade of funds”, — specifies a press-service “RusGidro”.
According to the company, the amount of investment in the project amounted to approximately $ 37 million. The same amount was called Sadykov. On Thursday, the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan decided to create a special parliamentary Commission to check the rationality of the spending of these funds.
Earlier on Friday, the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev signed a law on denunciation of agreements with Russia on construction and operation of Kambarata HPP-1 and upper Naryn cascade hydropower stations. According to the procedure, now the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Republic should notify the Russian government on termination of the agreements.
Kyrgyzstan and Russia agreed on construction of Kambarata HPP-1 with the participation of “inter RAO” and upper Naryn cascade with the participation of “RusHydro” during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Bishkek in 2012. It was assumed that the Russian Federation will allocate funds for the construction, Kyrgyzstan will have the right of use of land and other assets as contribution to authorized capital of created JV.
