The existing contracts with Turkey in the field of construction will not be torn, as this may cause some damage to Russia’s interests, said Vladimir Putin.

STAVROPOL, 25 Jan. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that the measures against the actions of the Turkish authorities do not affect the existing contracts in the construction industry, because it can cause some damage to Russia.

“We decided not to break existing contracts (Turkey — ed.) because it is not only known answer to Turkish authorities’ actions, but maybe we should cause some damage. Therefore, existing contracts, they operate”, — said the President of the Russian Federation during the inter-regional forum of the popular front on Monday.

Relations of Russia and Turkey is experiencing a crisis after 24 November 2015 Turkish F-16 shot down in Syria, the Russian bomber su-24. After the incident, the President signed a decree on measures to ensure national security and the special economic measures against Turkey.
