Moscow. January 26. Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research (BofA-ML) expects strengthening of the ruble to 65 rubles/$1 in 2016 in the baseline scenario when the price of Brent crude oil to $46 a barrel, said economist at BofA-ML on Russia and the CIS Vladimir Osakovsky at a meeting with journalists on Tuesday.
According to Osakovsky, the ruble has a potential to increase from current levels. In the framework of the base scenario when the price of Brent crude oil is $46 per barrel, GDP growth of Russia will be zero.
In addition, the expert said that if Brent crude will be at $30 per barrel, the ruble will amount to 80 rubles/$1
The current exchange rate of the ruble is about 81,7 rubles/$1
