FCS revealed attempts to import to Russia banned food products from Turkey


BRUSSELS, 26 January. /Corr. Denis Dubrovin/. Federal customs service (FCS) of the Russian Federation revealed a number of attempts to import to Russia banned food products from Turkey. On it have informed on Tuesday to journalists the head of the FCS Andrei Belyaninov who is on a visit in Brussels.

“Yes, attempts to import were. Basically it is food that tried to smuggle through third countries. The volume is not very large, but we must not forget that it was the New year, so we can expect an increase in the flow”, he said, without naming specific figures.

Speaking about the ways of smuggling, he expressed confidence that the goods will try to pass off as made in other States.

“Will continue to “repaint” under the third country of origin. More or less even clear how it is done,” he said.

A ban on the import into Russia of a number of Turkish goods became operational on 1 January this year.
