Moscow. January 26. The Minister of the European Union on the fight against fraud (OLAF), an Italian Prosecutor Giovanni Kessler has proposed to abandon the use of banknotes in denominations of 500 euros, according to Deutsche Welle.
He expressed doubt about the requirements in the bill that value.
According to Kessler, the rejection of Bank notes would significantly complicate the lives of fraudsters and corrupt officials.
The European Central Bank, responsible for printing banknotes, did not comment on the proposal official.
In 2013, the number of German experts was called upon to withdraw from the biggest European banknotes, claiming that she only want criminals, corrupt officials and those who evade taxes. Then the ECB said that the idea is “certainly worth discussing”.
