Lavrov: the number of players in the world economy is trying to ensure its interests at the expense of others


MOSCOW, January 26. A number of international players trying on the background of problems in the global economy to ensure its interests at the expense of others by creating a closed economic unions. This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov at a press conference at the end of the year.

“The situation in the world economy has remained unstable, – said the Minister. It felt almost all countries, including Russia”.

However, as noted Lavrov, at the same time “we have seen on this background attempts to ensure its interests at the expense of others, to create a closed economic unions”. The Minister stressed that such actions are an attempt “to shatter the global economic space”.

The line at regime change is counterproductive

In December 2015 Sergey Lavrov said that the persistent line to change undesirable regimes does not bring results, this approach is counterproductive.

“Recent events have shown that we can achieve success only through collective efforts. Was held neither bipolar nor unipolar world,” he said.

“Any attempt to act unilaterally, did not bear fruit, they are counterproductive. Moreover, they bring chaos and uncertainty,” he said.

“Mean persistent line, despite failures, to replace objectionable regimes, to impose its own model of development, one’s own values, without taking into account national traditions”, – said the Minister.
