Moscow. January 26. Russia for 11 months of 2015 increased imports of palm oil and its fractions by 23.6%.
As the Federal statistics service said Tuesday, in January-November 2015, the country imported 794 thousand tons of oil that on 23,6% more than in the corresponding period in 2014.
And in November, deliveries increased by 13.2% to 91.8 thousand tons.
Import Cocos (scrap) oils, including babassu oil, for 11 months fell by 4.8%, to 83.5 thousand tons, sunflower-seed, safflower or cottonseed oil and their fractions – 62,1%, to 3.2 thousand tons.
As repeatedly stated by the representatives of the National Union of milk producers (Soyuzmoloko), the use of palm oil leads to numerous cases of falsification of dairy products, when its producers instead of milk, use vegetable fats, but do not inform consumers. The Union proposed to introduce quotas on imports of palm oil.
The Ministry of agriculture proposes to label products containing palm oil, and to make this a significant area of the package.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, from 200 thousand studies of dairy production, carried out for 9 months last year, 752 samples were counterfeit. Most of the crafts found in the markets butter and cheese, the fake cheese and sour cream.
