NCSP group cargo turnover for 2015 has increased by 6.5% to 139.7 million tons

MOSCOW, January 27. Consolidated turnover of the group of companies “Novorossisk sea trading port” (NMTP) for 2015 has increased by 8.6 million tons or 6.5% compared to 2014 and reached 139.7 million tonnes. This is stated in the message of the company.

In particular, transshipment of bulk cargo grew by 6.5 million tons or 6.4% and reached 108 million tons, transshipment of bulk cargo increased by 0.3 million tonnes or 2.2 per cent to 12.6 million tonnes. Transshipment of General cargo climbed 2 million tons or 17% and reached 13.9 million tons, while transshipment of containerized cargo fell by 0.3 million tons or 4.9% to 5.2 million tonnes.

Thus, based on the data of Association of commercial sea ports (ASOP), the growth rate of the consolidated cargo turnover of NCSP group exceeded the overall industry by 0.8 percentage points, the growth of liquid cargo was ahead of industry-wide by 0.4%. In turn, the transshipment of dry cargo (bulk, General and containers) grew faster than the industry by 1.5%, the report says.

“In 2015, we have managed to reverse the negative trends of previous years and achieved growth of freight turnover by 6.5%, which was the best growth rate for the last 7 years”, – said CEO of PJSC NCSP Sultan Batov.

NCSP group is the largest Russian port operator by cargo turnover and unites JSC “NCSP”, LLC “Primorsk trade port”, JSC “Novorossiysk grain terminal”, OJSC “Novorossiysk ship repair yard”, OJSC “NCSP Fleet”, OJSC “Novoroslesexport”, OJSC “IPP”, LLC “Baltic stevedoring company” and CJSC “SFP”. NCSP shares are owned JV of Summa group and Transneft (50,1%), Rosimushchestvo (20%), the structure of RZD (5,3%) and a subsidiary of “Transneft”, CJSC “Transneft-Service” (10.5 per cent). The remaining shares are held by minority shareholders and traded on the open market.
