The Rosselkhoznadzor may limit imports of goods from Moldova

Restriction of import of plant products from Moldova can affect companies found to be engaged in re-exports from Europe, as reported in the Rosselkhoznadzor.

MOSCOW, 26 Jan. The Rosselkhoznadzor may limit imports of Moldavian plant products prohibited from being imported into the Russian Federation, the companies that were caught in the re-export from Europe, is spoken in the message of the Russian Department.

The statement was made during a meeting of head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert and Director Main state Inspectorate for seed production, quarantine and plant protection of Belarus Leonid Pleshko.

“Noted that today, of particular concern products coming from the territory of Moldova. The volumes of plant products, as well as its morphology suggests that under the guise of products produced in Moldova, comes with European products. In this context the Rosselkhoznadzor has informed that does not exclude the possibility of imposing restrictions on the importation of such products for companies that have already been seen in the implementation of such illegal actions”, — stated in the message service.

In addition, the Russian Ministry announced the intention to send to Moldova experts to familiarize themselves with the production of plant products intended for export to Russia.

Previously, the Rosselkhoznadzor urged to organize a joint visit of the Russian and Belarusian specialists in Moldova in connection with the supply of regulated products allegedly produced in Moldova in the Russian Federation through Belarus. According to Russian agencies, relevant service of Belarus in large volumes certifies uncharacteristic for Moldovan production of regulated products, the volume of certification of such products grow.

Besides, the Rosselkhoznadzor has already sent the Moldovan colleagues with a request to provide information on volumes of exports to Russia and other countries of regulated products produced in the Republic. Also, the Moldovan side informed about the readiness of the Russian Federation in the near future to send a delegation of experts to review the system of export from the Republic and the status of products in storage areas.
