Moscow. January 27. Japanese automobile group Toyota Motor Corp. managed in 2015 to retain the championship in sales volume of cars in the world markets for the fourth consecutive year.
As announced by the company on Wednesday, last year it implemented 10,15 million vehicles, including sales of units Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd. About 2014 the index decreased by 0.8%, as strong results in the U.S. could not offset the downturn in South-East Asia and other emerging markets, according to MarketWatch.
Toyota was the leader in the world market following the results of seven of the last eight years after it took first place at the American General Motors Co. in 2008. The only exception was 2011, when Toyota are unable to quickly restore production after the earthquake.
The German company Volkswagen AG last year, sold 9.9 million cars worldwide, GM is 9.8 million, which allowed them to occupy in the global ranking respectively second and third places.
In aggregate, the share of Toyota, VW and GM account for almost a third of global car sales. In 2015 the world was sold about 90 million vehicles, according to IHS Automotive.
