Transparency International: corruption in Russia decreased in 2015


BERLIN, January 27. Russia was ranked 119 out of 167 positions in the ranking of the level of corruption, compiled by Transparency International in 2015. Thus, according to estimates by the organization, cited in a statement released on Wednesday the press release, Russia managed to reduce corruption and climb to 17 lines in the rating.

It is compiled on the basis of “corruption perception index” (CPI), which can vary from 0 to 100 points. With 0 points means “very high level of perception of corruption” (i.e., the highest exposure), while 100 “very low”.

In 2015 Russia scored 29 points, while in 2014 – 27 points, taking 136 place ranking.

According to estimates of Transparency International Ukraine last year with 27 points won 130 position. Among the members of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU) best position in the ranking of Armenia – 95th place; Belarus was ranked 107, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan – 123 position by the end of 2015.

In the top three was Denmark, which scored 91 points, Finland (90 points) and Sweden (89 points). Least points managed to get North Korea and Somalia, they received from the organization for eight points and shared last 167,.

The corruption perceptions index is based on independent polls, involving international financial and human rights experts, including the world Bank, world economic forum, Asian and African development banks.
