Sands: the Russian economy is more stable than in 1998

MOSCOW, 29 Jan. The President’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that it is inappropriate to compare the current situation in the Russian economy since the 1998 crisis: Russia is now much more stable on his feet.

“The situation is completely different. First, let’s say, a different set of factors affecting economic difficulties, a completely different state with completely different features and totally different economy and power reserve. So I think it is absolutely inappropriate to compare the situation now with the situation that was in 98 year,” Peskov said to journalists when asked to comment on the opinion poll, according to which every second of Russians is afraid of a repetition of crisis of 1998.

“Now much more, despite all the difficulties and problems that nobody hides the fact the state is much more and the economy is much more confident standing on his feet,” — said the press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
