The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation: the need to support the banking sector within the anti-crisis plan


MOSCOW, January 29. The Finance Ministry sees no need to support the banking sector in the framework of anti-crisis plan, told reporters Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev.

“We believe that supporting the banks was provided. And the issues associated with the volatility of the exchange rate, to a large extent can be solved through the application of Supervisory standards. In particular, from 1 January the Central Bank lowered to 8% coefficient H1, this greatly helped the banks”, – he told, answering a question about whether support of Russian banks in the new anti-crisis plan.

Earlier on Friday, Deputy economic development Minister Oleg Fomichev said that the anti-crisis plan of the government to support the banking sector practically nothing is provided.

According to him, information on banks is now checked, and their support might be excluded from anti-crisis plan.
