“We are close to reach an agreement between oil-producing member countries of OPEC, and those who are not part of it – said Maduro. – We are close, does not mean that we have already reached it.” Last Friday, Minister of petroleum and mines of Venezuela, Eulogio del Pino announced that he would visit Russia to meet with the Minister of energy of Russia Alexander Novak, and also to meet Tuesday with Russia’s largest oil producers. Later, del Pino will visit Qatar, Iran and Saudi Arabia. “These are the four key countries, and it is very important that we all agree,” said the Minister.

Amid a sharp fall in oil prices – the main export product of Venezuela – the country in the last two years has worsened the economic crisis. Maduro has repeatedly stated about the need to take measures to stabilize the situation on the hydrocarbon market. According to the authorities of South American countries, “fair price” of a barrel shall not be less than $60.
