Russia played a decisive role in the formation and adoption of the modern system of international law and paid a high price, said the speaker of the state Duma Sergey Naryshkin.
MOSCOW, 1 Feb. Russia is currently a key defender of international law and its foundations, said on Monday speaker of the state Duma Sergey Naryshkin.
“The protection of international law is, of course, duty General, however, a special responsibility and a special burden today lies just on the Russian international lawyers”, — he said during the meeting with young scientists of Moscow state law University named after O. E. Kutafin.
According to him, first, “our country played a decisive role in the formation and adoption of the modern system of international law and paid a high price”. Naryshkin said that he is referring to the victory in world war II. Secondly, our diplomats, politicians, lawyers made a unique and highly significant contribution to the development and practical and theoretical foundations of international law.
“Thirdly, in today’s critical time of our country in fact is a key protector of international law and its own principles,” — said Naryshkin.
