Putin: necessary state control over the strategically important enterprises


As a result of privatization, the state should not lose control over the strategically important enterprises, said President Vladimir Putin, stressing that a controlling stake in strategic companies with state participation should be kept in the hands of the state.

MOSCOW, 1 Feb. The state as a result of privatization should not lose control over the strategically important enterprises, said the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

“As a result of privatization, the state should not lose control over strategically important enterprises. And let me stress that a controlling stake in strategic companies with state participation have, at least today, save in the hands of the state”, — Putin said, opening the meeting on privatization.

The President also indicated that all privatisation transactions must strictly comply with the standards and requirements of the law, it is necessary to ensure maximum transparency for both parties and to the public.

At the meeting were invited the head of VTB, “Rosneft”, “Bashneft”, Russian Railways, Sovkomflot, Aeroflot and ALROSA, and officials from Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian presidential aide Andrei Belousov, first Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Minister of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev, the head of Rosimushchestvo Olga Dergunova.
