MOSCOW, 2 Feb. Azerbaijan is interested in Russia and OPEC could agree to reduce oil production and stabilize prices, said Sputnik Azerbaijani Ambassador to U.S. Elin Suleymanov.
Oil revenues account for about 90% of Azerbaijan’s exports. Earlier, the head of the energy Ministry of Russia Alexander Novak said that the decline in production in each country within 5% may be the subject of discussion at the planned meeting of OPEC in February. However, the Bloomberg after statements of the Russian Minister said referring to the delegates from OPEC that the meeting to discuss a possible production decline is not planned yet.
“We would like to see how rising oil prices. It’s in our interest. If Russia and OPEC will be able to achieve results that would be great,” said Suleymanov Sputnik.
The Ambassador stressed that Azerbaijan “will be interested to see the outcome of negotiations” between Russia and OPEC.
