Moscow. February 1. Dubai international airport (UAE), on the basis of 2015 once again become the busiest airport in the world by number of transported abroad passengers.
According to a press release by operator Dubai Airports, in 2015 via Dubai passed a record 78,015 million international passengers against 70,474 million a year earlier, an increase of 10.7%.
Earlier it was reported that passenger traffic London Heathrow last year was about 74,96 million, which is 2.2% higher than in 2014.
In December the number of passengers who used services of the airport of Dubai, has exceeded 7,053 million, or 8.5% more than during the same month of 2014. Last year this figure was exceeded 7 million only twice – in August and December, according to a press release.
The number of flights in the Dubai Marina in 2015 amounted to 403,517 against 353,507 thousand thousand a year earlier (growth by 14.1%).
The largest flow of passengers among the countries occur in India (over 10,391 million, an increase of 17%). Next in the ranking of States followed by United Kingdom (5,682 million, an increase of 6%) and Saudi Arabia (5,466 million, an increase of 12%).
Among the cities leaders are Doha (almost 2,783 million, an increase of 18%), London (2,66 million increase of 1%) and Mumbai (2,214 million, a rise of 14%), the report says.
The most significant percentage increase in workload was recorded on routes to/from North America (+25%).
