Egypt asks Russia for a reduced price and a loan of wheat


Egypt in 2015 already asked Russia to cancel the duty on Russian wheat exports, but Russia refused.

CAIRO, 2 Jan. Egypt asks Russia to consider the possibility of price preferences and grace period when purchasing wheat, according to the draft Protocol of the intergovernmental Commission of the Russian Federation and Egypt, which is available.

“The Egyptian side reiterated its request for granting of Russia of the appropriate credit mechanism to Finance future imports of wheat in the form of grace period of payment for a period of not less than six months without growth the debt burden, as well as requests to consider providing the Egyptian side preferential prices when imports of Russian wheat”, — the document says.

In 2015, Egypt has turned to Russia with a request to cancel the duty on Russian wheat exports, but Russia refused, because Russian legislation provides for the duty uniform for all countries of the world.
