Moscow. February 1. Sue “Krastelecom” on Monday to launch a commercial 3G mobile communications network, the correspondent reported from the launch ceremony.
The company will build up to the end of the year on the Peninsula 600 base stations of its own funds and money from private investors. 3G network “Krastelecom” will provide the speed of mobile Internet to 42 Mbit/S. In June of this year it is planned to launch the 4G network “Krastelecom” at frequencies of 1800 MHz.
Last year the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of information and communications of Crimea Dmitry Polonsky declared that “Krastelecom” will use the equipment of the Ukrainian Kyivstar (owned by Vimpelcom Ltd.), property in the Crimea was nationalized in February 2015.
“Krastelecom” became the second mobile operator on the Peninsula. After the annexation of Crimea to Russia in 2014, the only statement on the subject was OOO “K-Telecom” operating under the brand name WinMobile. The ultimate owners of the LLC are unknown. The operator received frequencies, where previously worked “MTS Ukraine” (owned by Russian MTS) and launched its network on 4 August 2014.
Until the end of 2014 in the Crimea has stopped the work of the Ukrainian “Kyivstar” and “Astelit” and “MTS Ukraine”. The last sold its property in Crimea for EUR 17.7 million to two private investors. The Russian operators “big three” previously stated that he does not plan to enter the mobile market of the Crimea.
