Debts on the “Magnitsky list”: the U.S. has one standard: “Whoever is not with America, not the Democrat”

MOSCOW, 2 February. The U.S. has one standard: “Whoever is not with America, not the Democrat.” This opinion was expressed by the Commissioner of the Russian foreign Ministry on issues of human rights, democracy and rule of law Konstantin Dolgov in connection with the expansion of “Magnitsky list”.

“The U.S. has expanded the flawed “Magnitsky list”, under the guise of caring about democracy in Russia. This is not a double, and a single standard of democracy in Washington. Its essence is simple: whoever is not with America, not the Democrat”, – he wrote in his microblog on Twitter.

The U.S. Treasury on Monday additionally included in the “Magnitsky list” of five people – three investigators, a former Deputy interior Minister of Russia and head of the Investigative Committee and former Director of the prison in Chernokozovo (Chechen). The statement reads was associated with performance in the Congress the annual report on the implementation of the Magnitsky act.

On 2 February the Russian foreign Ministry reported that in response to the extension by the US authorities sanctions list Russia, closed all five figures of the American law enforcement system.

Earlier in depodesta noted that “the List Magnitsky” has long been used by Washington’s “groundless accusations against Russian officials” and strikes a blow to bilateral relations.
