Iran stands for closer contacts with Russia and Iraq on energy


Iran, Russia, Venezuela and Iraq should conduct more consultations on the issues of production energy market, said Advisor to the Supreme leader of Iran, Ali Akbar Velayati.

MOSCOW, 3 Feb. Iran stands for closer ties with Russia, Iraq and Venezuela on energy issues, said on Wednesday Advisor to the Supreme leader of Iran Ali Akbar Velayati.

“In the energy sector of Iran and Russia should not have competition and must work together. Our position is that countries such as Iran, Russia, Venezuela and Iraq to produce the energy market needs to hold more contacts and consultations,” said Velayati, speaking at a roundtable at the Russian Institute for strategic studies.
