CAIRO, February 3. The Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation is discussing with Egyptian airline EgyptAir supply up to 40 aircraft SSJ-100. This was announced by the Minister of trade and industry of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov on air of TV channel “Russia 24”.
“We are now discussing (with EgyptAir – approx. ed.) the delivery up to 40 aircraft SSJ-100. This is a big promising project that will ensure utilization of our capacity in the near future. Of course, this depends on many factors, in particular financial conditions, which we will explore with our financial institutions. But most importantly, there is good will and a desire and understand the program, what aircraft will be substituted in this case, our SSJ-100” – he said.
Previously, the KLA was planning to transfer on a trade-in scheme 12 SSJ-100 in leasing EgyptAir and provide an option for another 12 aircraft. With the Egyptian side the parties discussed the possibility of trade-in 15 Embraer-170 aircraft.
Today, according to “Civil planes Dry”, 64 SSJ 100 is operated. The largest operators are Aeroflot (26 ships), Interjet (19 ships), “Gazpromavia” (10 aircraft in the version with increased flight range). The Sukhoi SSJ 100 consists of two variants: 75 and 95 passengers (may vary depending on the layout of interior).
Egyptian airline Air Leisure will receive a 4 liner SSJ-100 before the end of 2016, said the Minister.
“We have signed a Memorandum on the delivery of SSJ-100, which announced last year. 4 SSJ-100 will be delivered in the near future – before the end of this year in operational leasing company Egypt Air Leisure, then transfer from operating leases in financial – 18 months, and plus we recorded a further option for 6 more planes. Hence the term on 10 aircraft. This is only to provide Charter flights within Egypt”, he said.
An agreement of intent for the purchase of 4 aircraft SSJ-100 with option for another 6 aircraft between airlines, Egypt Air Leisure, Navarta SA and “Sukhoi Civil aircraft” (SCAC) was signed on 2 February in Cairo.
