Kasyanov asked the FSB to bring a criminal case against Kadyrov

As lawyer Vadim Prokhorov Kasyanov, in the morning, the leader of PARNAS and his Deputy Vladimir Kara-Murza Jr. filed a statement on Kadyrov to the FSB. He noted that in addition to the treatment of a similar environment in the second half of the day will be handed over to the Investigative Committee.

Prokhorov said that a statement filed under three articles — “the Encroachment on life state or the public figure”, “Public calls for extremist activities and inciting hatred or enmity” (article 277, 280 and 282 of the Russian Criminal code). Prokhorov is confident that the “extremist” articles should be checked statements Kadyrov in Instagram and at the meeting on 12 January in Grozny.

“If the FSB’t react at all, it will mean that in Russia there is a whole area that lives outside the legal framework”, — said Prokhorov.

Earlier, Kasyanov pointed out that Kadyrov’s page in Instagram contains a direct threat of murder to him personally as a statesman, and promised to take the case to the police.

1 February, the head of Chechnya on his page on the social network published a video in which Kasyanov and Kara-Murza is depicted through the sniper scope. The video came with a caption: “Kasyanov arrived in Strasbourg for the money to Russian opposition. Whoever does not understand, he will understand!”.

Later the video was removed from Instagram due to violations of the rules of the social network.

On 2 February with the requirement to bring criminal case against Kadyrov was the head of the Moscow branch of the party “Yabloko” Sergei Mitrokhin. In a statement addressed to Vladimir Putin, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov and Prosecutor General Yury Chaika, it was considered that the actions of Kadyrov fall under part 2 of article 280 of the criminal code (public calls for extremist activities) and part 2 of article 282 of the criminal code (organization of activity of extremist organization).

Mitrokhin believes that Kadyrov’s statements about non-systemic opposition as “enemies” and “traitors” justify “the need for illegal action against a certain social group of the population that does not support the political course of the present Georgian leadership”. The words of the head of Chechnya in the “Apple” qualifies as public calls intended to incite social discord and propaganda of inferiority on grounds of social affiliation.

The leader of the Moscow Yabloko reminded about the statements of Kadyrov and the Chechen speaker of Parliament Magomed Daudov and the slogans at the rally in support of the leader of Chechnya in Grozny. It is, in particular, about the slogan: “Liberals of all stripes crave crises, protests, and deaths!”, “One opposition member would do more harm than a hundred friends benefit!”, “The liberal government — the crisis in the economy”, “do Not spare money for the Russian opposition. The U.S. state Department”, “Russian liberal for Russia right material” and others.
