In an interview with radio station “Moscow speaking” the head of the Department of transport of Moscow Maxim Liksutov had hoped that the online taxi aggregator Uber in the coming months will sign an agreement with the city authorities. “If not, then we have a legitimate right and duty to contact the police and start the procedure associated with the prohibition of activities,” the official said.
Liksutov said that the agreement with Uber was to be signed before the end of 2015, however, the online aggregator of taxis asked for the first postponement until the end of January, then another 10 days, citing corporate procedures.
“We are working closely with the Department of transport of Moscow, including on the issue of information agreement. We were able to come to a certain version of a document that satisfies both parties”, — said the representative of the Russian office of Uber Evgenia Shipova. She found it difficult to say about the timing of signing the agreement, but noted that, in principle, the company is ready to sign it in the form in which it now agreed with the diptrans.
