“With the big share of probability it is possible to say that the fragments 22 Kalashnikov rifles and one Kalashnikov machine gun, except this is a single barrel twelve-gauge hunting shotguns”, — said Hrytsak Poroshenko. The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Shokin said that the investigation “fully proved that this weapon killed the Maidan protesters”.
Poroshenko, in turn, said they found the materials “significantly increase evidence” to prosecute. The Ukrainian President emphasized that the punished must be not only artists, but also those, “who ordered these weapons were issued, customers and organizers.” Poroshenko in this regard, noted that it would be to insist that the Verkhovna Rada amended the law on in absentia justice.

In February 2015, Poroshenko said that the organization of sniper groups fired at the participants of the Maidan, was involved in the Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov. The representative of the Russian foreign Ministry called the statement of the Ukrainian President “nonsense”.
In mid-October of 2015, the Prosecutor General Shokin said that the investigation has no evidence of Russian trace in the case of the shooting on the Maidan. Shokin was reminded that the former head of the SBU Valentyn Nalyvaychenko asserted that “a Russian official in the winter of 2014 was in Kiev, gave orders to security forces to shoot at protesters”. According to the Prosecutor, he asked Nalivaychenko to provide “proof of that”, but he didn’t.
