Sokolov: the flight into Egypt will be restored after the execution of the safety requirements


MOSCOW, 6 February. Flights to Egypt will be restored immediately after the execution of Egypt’s security requirements. This was reported to journalists on the sidelines of the Congress of “United Russia”, the Russian transport Minister Maxim Sokolov.

“It (the resumption of flights to Egypt) depends on the Egyptian side. When will they make the necessary conditions that will meet the safety requirements, we will check it, let’s prove, then immediately resume (flights)”, – he said.

Sokolov noted that the Egyptian side have contact, “but we are waiting for the results”. “We will be happy when will be the result”, – said the Minister.

The transport Ministry, he said, will be to assess the level of security in the airports of Egypt, “as soon as they’ll call us”.

On the suspension of air links with Egypt

November 6, 2015 Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed with the recommendations of the National anti-terrorism Committee to suspend air traffic with Egypt. After that, all Russian commercial airlines and operators of General aviation has suspended the performance of all regular transit and Charter flights to Egypt with passengers on Board.
