MOSCOW, 8 February. Most owners of private vehicles (62%) approve of the system of charging heavy vehicles on the principle of “who is the greatest spoils the road, that and pays”. This is stated in the message of the all-Russia centre of studying of public opinion (VTSIOM), posted today on the organization’s website.
“The system of charging heavy vehicles on the principle of “who is the greatest spoils the road, that and pays” and principle of “who use the road for commercial purposes, he pays,” according to a fair majority of owners of private vehicles (62% and 59%, respectively). However, truckers (65% and 69%) and representatives of the companies – carriers (60% and 64%) in the majority hold the opposite opinion,” say the sociologists.
According to most respondents in all target groups (companies – 78%, fur – 74%, owners of passenger cars to 80%), funds received from owners of heavy duty vehicles in the system “Plato” should go primarily to the rehabilitation of existing trails.
