Cargo transshipment in seaports of the Russian Federation in January decreased by 2.8%, to 52.9 million tons


MOSCOW, 11 February. Cargo transshipment in seaports of Russia in January 2016 dropped 2.8% compared with the same period last year and amounted to 52,9 million tons, reported the press service of the Association of commercial sea ports (ASOP) of the Russian Federation.

Export cargoes are overloaded 43 million tonnes (-3.7%), import cargo – 2.2 million tons (9.2 per%), transit – 4.2 million tonnes (+7,1%), cabotage – 3.4 million tons (+1.8 per cent) from the AFCS.

The volume of transshipment of dry cargo totaled 21.7 million tons (-3.8 per cent), including coal – 8,5 million tons (-11,6%), cargoes in containers – 3.0 million tonnes (of -2.6%), ferrous metals – 2.2 million tons (-4,9%), grain – 1.8 million tons (-6,1%) and scrap – 0.2 million tons (-33,6%).

The volume of transshipment cargo on the ferries has grown to 1,6 million tons (+16,2%), mineral fertilizers – up to 1.4 million tonnes (+13.0 per cent), ore – up to 0.6 million tons (growth in 2,4 times), timber cargo – to 0.5 mln tons (+12.2 per cent), non-ferrous metals up to 0.3 mln tons (+19.7 per cent) and reefer cargoes – up to 0.2 million tons (+26,0%).

The volume of transshipment of liquid cargoes has decreased to 31.2 million tons (-2,1%), including oil products – up to 11.4 mln tonnes (-9,8%), at the same time increased transshipment of crude oil by 3.3% to 18.2 mln tons and liquefied gas – by 4.1% to 1.2 million tonnes.
