Gazprom plans to maintain gas exports to Ukraine at least in the next three years. This is evidenced by the approved by the in December non-public budget of the company, who was able to see Bloomberg.
According to the Agency, Gazprom wants until 2018 to supply Kiev the amount of gas that is comparable to the 41% of needs of Ukraine last year. At the end of November, the Russian gas giant cut off gas supplies in connection with the refusal of “Naftogaz of Ukraine” for the prepayment.
In the budget considered several scenarios with annual volume shipments 8.8 billion, 10 billion and 14.1 billion cubic meters per year. The document also takes into account the possibility of reducing prices to the European average — in the document it is set at 15% below contract prices for Ukraine.
“Ukraine has come a long way to reduce dependence on imports of Russian gas, a very long way, but it is still not fully independent from Russia”, — said Sijbren de Jong, an analyst at energy security the Hague Centre for strategic studies.
