Levichev confirmed his nomination to the Central election Committee from “Fair Russia”


MOSCOW, February 15. Vice-speaker of the state Duma Nikolay Levichev confirms the nomination of his candidacy to the Central election Commission of the Russian Federation from the faction “Fair Russia”.

“The decision was made today at the faction meeting to delegate to propose my candidacy (CEC)”, – he said to journalists.

While Levichev has denied some media reports about the division and internal conflict in the party “Fair Russia”, noting that he was going to stay a member.

Earlier, the leader “Fair Russia” Sergey Mironov wrote in his Twitter that he supports the nomination of Levicheva in the new composition of the CEC.

The Central election Commission of the Russian Federation is formed for a period of 5 years, consisting of 15 people, 5 of whom shall be approved by the state Duma, 5 – the Federation Council, and the remaining 5 – the President of the Russian Federation. The powers of the current members of the CEC expires March 27. The current composition of the CEC for the state Duma are Yevgeny Kolyushin (CPRF), Denis Panshin, Valery Kryukov (“United Russia”), Sergey Danilenko (“Fair Russia”) and Oleg Lavrov (LDPR). The CEC head Vladimir Churov was appointed to the CEC by the presidential “quota”.
