Bashkiria will not sell its stake in Bashneft


UFA, February 16. /Corr. Nail Shachmaliev/. Bashkiria will not sell his stake in Bashneft, said the head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov, answering a question of the correspondent of TASS.

“In the last two weeks I did quite a lot associated with “Bashneft” and possible sale of the Federal block of shares in the hands of private investors. With regard to our package – 25% plus one share, our position is the following: not to sell,” he said.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev said that in the first place can be privatized Bashneft, ALROSA and Rosneft. The Minister noted that it is a public company listed on the market, therefore they are technically and legally ready for the best privatization and best known to the investor.

According to information, the government is considering two options for the privatization of “Bashneft” – sale of 50% stake in the company, or a more moderate option in the form of the sale of 25% of shares through the stock exchange. As previously reported by Reuters citing a source in the government of the Russian Federation, currently the purchase of “Bashneft” is interested in several companies, in particular LUKOIL. In the company this information the Agency did not comment.

Oil company “Bashneft” was founded in 1932 and has operations in more than 20 regions of Russia and abroad. The Federal property management Agency owns 50,08% of the share capital of Bashkortostan – 25% plus one share. According to the preliminary results of 2015, the company takes the sixth place in terms of oil production (19,92 million tonnes) and fourth in the volume of primary oil refining (19,13 million tons) among oil companies in Russia.
