Medvedev appoints new Deputy Minister of Finance

In the document, which was signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, contains the order “to appoint Trunina Ilya Vyacheslavovich, Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia”.

As informs the Agency “RIA Novosti”, with the appointment Trunina the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov has 10 deputies. One of the posts had been vacant since January 15, 2016, when the post was relieved retired Minister Sergei Shatalov.

In his post Shatalov was in charge of tax and customs-tariff policy. These tasks were previously before Trunina, which since 2006 has headed the Department of tax and customs tariff policy of the Ministry of Finance.

The new Deputy Siluanov was born in 1976. A graduate of the Financial Academy under the Russian government, he worked for several years at the Institute for the economy in transition, where in 2006 he moved to the post of head of Department in the Ministry of Finance.

As reported on 18 January, the newspaper “Vedomosti”, Trunin was the main contender for a place Shatalov. It is expected that he will have to oversee not only Federal tax service, Federal customs service and Rosalkogolregulirovanie.
