The Verkhovna Rada has banned the Russians to participate in the privatization in Ukraine


The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading the document that prohibits the participation in the privatization of state property of Ukraine to the residents and nationals of States which were recognized by the aggressor state or are under the sanctions of Kiev. In support of the amendments voted 252 deputies with 226 required, reports -Ukraine.

According to the document, to participate in the privatization will not be able of legal entity or related entities registered in the countries-aggressors or countries under sanctions, and also citizens of such countries. The ban also applies to residents of the aggressor countries.

As noted in the explanatory note to the amendments, the document should “strengthen the protection of national interests”. Potential buyers will be required to self prove their right to purchase state property.

Kiev has recognized Russia as an aggressor in January of last year. In late April, the Rada adopted the resolution “On repulse armed aggression of the Russian Federation and overcoming its consequences”.

In addition, since the beginning of this year came into force the economic sanctions by Kiev against Moscow. The Ukrainian authorities took this step after Russia made Ukraine has made to the list of countries against which from 1 January 2016 will be valid grocery embargo previously imposed on goods from the US and Europe.

Currently in Ukraine there is a ban on the import from Russia of bakery, pastry, confectionery, chocolates, meat, fish, coffee, black tea, baby food, filtered cigarettes, beer, vodka and other products. In addition, Kiev has imposed on the import of Russian goods import tariffs, canceling on, the free trade regime.
