Real disposable incomes of Russians in January fell compared with December 52.2%


MOSCOW, February 18. Real disposable incomes of Russians in January 2016, according to preliminary data, fell compared with December 2015 52.2%. Such estimation is contained in the operational report of Rosstat.

In annual terms (January 2016 to January 2015) they decreased by 6.3%.

Cash earnings on average per capita for January compared to the same period last year increased by 3% to 21,365 thousand rubles, and in relation to December last year fell by 52.7%.

The average monthly salary of on average during the same time period grew by 3.1% and amounted 32,122 thousand rubles, and in relation to December last year decreased by 26%.

The increase in the number of unemployed

The number of unemployed in Russia in January 2016, according to preliminary data of Rosstat, amounted to 4,428 million, which is 6.2% more than in the same period of 2015.

In January 2016, according to preliminary results of the sample survey on employment problems (labor force surveys), 4.4 million people, or 5.8% of the labour force (economically active population), were classified as unemployed (according to methodology of the International Labour Organization). At state establishments of employment service as unemployed was registered 1 million, including 0.9 million people were receiving unemployment benefits.

The number of economically active population, according to preliminary data, in January 2016, amounted to 75.8 million people, or 52% of the total population of the country.
