The government of Karelia dismissed


PETROZAVODSK, February 18. /Corr. Igor Lukyanov/. Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen has sent the Republic government in resignation.

“Today I made a really tough decision – the government of the Republic of Karelia is retiring. Preparing a decree of the administration, formed a new government structure. I hope to March 4, enough time to prepare the new structure of the government,” said the Khudilainen at the meeting with deputies of legislative Assembly of Republic.

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin on 17 February reprimanded the Khudilainen “in connection with a breach of the obligations on the organization of resettlement of citizens from emergency available housing”. Before that, on 10 February, the Russian President demanded to take measures against the leadership of Karelia, which disrupted the programme of resettlement of dilapidated housing in the region.

According to the regional Ministry of construction, housing and communal services and energy, until 31 December 2015 in Karelia had to settle 37 thousand square meters of dilapidated housing, but in fact vacated only 12,1 thousand square meters of Karelia faces a fine of RUB 133 million. The authorities have already begun to break contracts with contractors who did not fulfill their obligations.

According to the Ministry of construction of Russia, by September 2018, the end of the program of resettlement of dilapidated housing, Karelia needs to resettle 118 thousand square meters of emergency housing.
