The world Bank has provided Ukraine a loan of $560 million for road repairs


KIEV, February 18. International Bank for reconstruction and development (IBRD) granted Ukraine a loan of $560 million to develop the road sector. About it reports a press-service of the state Agency of automobile roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor).

According to the representative of Ukravtodor, it happened a week earlier than planned.

“The Ukrainian side has fully complied with all conditions necessary to obtain a loan for the development of road network of the country, so the agreement came into force a week earlier (11 February) than we had expected and planned. In addition, according to the us Department of justice, the agreement does not require ratification because the loan is already included in the law on the state budget for this year”, – said the head of Department of international cooperation and investment Ukravtodor Lily Gorbatyuk.

In the framework of the signed agreement, the funds must be used for the modernization of the railway section Poltava-Rolls of the road M-03 Kiev-Kharkiv-dovzhanskiy. Also needs to be improved traffic safety on major transport highways of Ukraine. In addition, these funds provided for the acquisition of consultancy services for the design of automatic system for trucks weighing and charging carriers for the fare by highways of Ukraine.
