Vladimir Dmitriev announced his departure as head of VEB


Thursday, 18 February, the head of VEB Vladimir Dmitriev announced at the meeting in the staff about his upcoming resignation as President of the Corporation. This was reported by a source close to the VEB, and was confirmed by a source in the government.

Press office of Vnesheconombank declined to comment.

The President’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has refrained from commenting on the reports about the upcoming changes in the management of Vnesheconombank. “We will inform you,” Peskov said to journalists, answering negatively a question whether he can give any comments at the moment (quoted by “Interfax”).

It was previously reported that as part of the reform of its current VEB head Vladimir Dmitriev may be replaced by another Manager. A source close to the VEB, as well as another source close to Rosatom, said that as one of the candidates for the position of head of Vnesheconombank was considered Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Sergey Gorkov.

The government official noted that for the post of head of VEB there were other candidates also remained an option in which Vladimir Dmitriev will be able to keep his post.

Earlier, another source close to VEB said that the country’s leadership intends to put at the head of the state Corporation experienced Manager, “If possible, [Herman] Gref. Vladimir Dmitriev came in the Vnesheconombank of the USSR (since 2007 — state Corporation “Bank for development and foreign economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)”) in 1997 to the post of first Deputy Chairman and in 2004 led the organization.
