WASHINGTON, February 18. /Corr. Andrew Shitov/. 19 February it is expected the re-election of the incumbent Director of the IMF Christine Lagarde on a new five-year term. This was confirmed by the correspondent of TASS sources in the Fund.
“There are expectations,” said a source.
First about the expected re-election Lagarde told French newspaper L Opinion. According to her, the IMF Board decided not to delay this step, as Lagarde was not found rivals in the struggle for the top administrative post in the Fund. Her candidacy was the only one, and obviously the elections were to take place unopposed.
The current term of Lagarde for the five-year contract expires in July this year.
