VLADIKAVKAZ, February 19. Died the head of North Ossetia Tamerlan Aguzarov who were treated in Moscow. This was reported today by high-ranking source in administration of the head region. “He was sick a long time, struggled with the illness for many years”, – said the Agency interlocutor.

In early February Aguzarov was taken with pneumonia in one of Moscow hospitals. He was elected head of the North Ossetia in September 2015.


Tamerlan Kimovich Aguzarov was born 14 June 1963 in the town of Alagir in North Ossetia. Candidate of legal Sciences, Professor. Worked in bodies of Prosecutor’s office, where he held positions from assistant Prosecutor to Deputy Prosecutor of the Industrial district of Vladikavkaz. In 1995-1999 – Deputy of the North Ossetian Parliament of the first convocation from the alagirsky district.

On 4 January 1999 he was appointed President of the Supreme Court of North Ossetia. In 2005-2006, presided over the trial of Nurpasha Kulaev, the only detainee of the participant of capture of school in Beslan on 1-3 September 2004. 30 November 2006 by the decree of the head of state appointed by the President of the Supreme court of North Ossetia for another six-year term.

4 December 2011-elected Deputy of the state Duma from the party “United Russia”, entered the parliamentary Committee for security and corruption counteraction, the Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction.

June 5, 2015, by decree of the Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed acting head of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania. Was succeeded by Taimuraz Mamsurova, who headed the Republic since 2005.

September 13, 2015 the deputies of the North Ossetian Parliament elected Tamerlane Aguzarova head of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania (voted for by 66 out of 68 members). On the same day he officially took office.
