Russia plans on February 19 to convene a meeting of the UN security Council in connection with the deteriorating situation on the Syrian-Turkish border and declared to Turkey’s plans for the introduction of its troops on the Northern Syria. About this informed the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“Russia intends to convene a UN security Council meeting to discuss this issue and introduce the draft resolution, which will contain requirements to cease any actions that undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and inconsistent with UN security Council resolution 2254, as well as efforts to launch Syrian peace process,” she said.
