Putin Bastrykin awarded the highest rank – General of justice of the Russian Federation


MOSCOW, February 20. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin by his decree has assigned to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin the highest rank – General of justice of the Russian Federation. The decree “On awarding military ranks of senior officers, special ranks of Executive staff and higher special ranks” published today on the Internet-portal of legal information.

This is the highest rank provided for by the law “On Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation”. Still Alexander Bastrykin held the rank of Colonel-General of justice.

62-year-old Alexander Bastrykin is the head of the UK since its formation – first as the Investigative Committee at the Russian Prosecutor’s office (June 2007), and then (since 2010) – an independent Investigative Committee of Russia.
