Zakharova called hypocrisy a hunger strike MEPs in support of Nadiya Savchenko

MOSCOW, February 20. If MEPs are confident in the innocence of former Ukrainian army Hope Savchenko, it would be logical not to stage a hunger strike, and their role in the promotion of the investigation and the search for the killers of Russian journalists. This opinion was expressed by the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on his page in Facebook.

“Deputies of the parliaments of 22 countries-members of the Council of Europe intend to hold a hunger strike in support of Nadezhda Savchenko, detained on suspicion of complicity in the murder of Russian journalists Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin said in her post. – What outrageous hypocrisy! As previously reported by some media, the campaign “Freedom to Nadezhda Savchenko – we are hungry” began on 15 February and will run until 29 February 2016 in the 22 parliaments of member countries of the Council of Europe. The initiator of this action was made by the Deputy of the Czech Parliament Christina Zelenkova.

Savchenko is accused under articles of the criminal code “Murder”, “Attempted murder” and “Illegal border crossing”. According to the investigation, she, as an officer of the armed forces of Ukraine, in the location of a paramilitary battalion “Aydar” on June 17, 2014 near the village Metalist Luhansk region led covert surveillance and correction of shelling the checkpoint of the militia LNR with him were civilians, including three Russian citizens – employees of VGTRK. As a result of the shooting, two of them – Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin – were killed. His guilt Savchenko does not recognize.
