“We are ready to offer Japan controlling stakes in large oil and gas projects. This applies to Japanese investors, who have prepared strategic development plans”, – he noted. According to Dvorkovich, in spite of sanctions by Japan, “Russia maintains a constructive cooperation with Japanese companies”. “It creates a good atmosphere for political dialogue”, – stressed the Vice Premier.
He also did not rule out the possibility of participation of Japanese companies in joint economic development of the Kuril Islands. “They are preparing the establishment of the economic zone of new type. To the development of the region may be allowed Japanese and other foreign companies,” he said.
Speaking about the possible visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Japan, Dvorkovich noted that this requires more large-scale bilateral cooperation in the economic sphere. “For the organization of the visit to prepare a package of important agreements,” he said.
