MOSCOW, February 24. Russia and Belarus it is necessary to coordinate joint economic policy, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

“We agreed with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus that directly to the Supreme state Council (VHC) will meet, discuss the current situation, first of all, of course, in the economy in order to make the right decision tomorrow Supreme Council of state”, – Medvedev said at a meeting with Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov.

According to him, it is necessary to designate the contours of the developments in bilateral contacts for the future. “For the near future given the fact that currently the economy of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus has accumulated quite a lot of negative developments, trends difficult, and more than ever, we need to coordinate a joint economic policy,” Medvedev said.

According to him, Moscow and Minsk co-ordinate economic policy, but in the present circumstances the importance of this issue has increased “in order to mitigate the consequences for the citizens of our country and our Union state”. “To all the accumulated negative economic factors in the least degree influenced the lives and social condition of our citizens. This is the main purpose, and I think tomorrow will tell and presidents, and other members of the Supreme state Council,” – said the Russian Prime Minister.

Medvedev said about the work of the Eurasian economic Union, which must be considered when coordinating joint activities. “A number of decisions we gave at the mercy of this Association, we have a supranational body, and we must make all our decisions taking into account the fact that there is such a Union”, – said the Prime Minister.

He invited Belarusian counterpart to discuss the current situation and to walk on the most sensitive issues. “It concerns financial cooperation, energy cooperation and other issues,” Medvedev said.
