IRKUTSK, February 25. Activists of the Russian popular front (onf) are proposing to change the methodology for allocating funds to the subjects of the Russian Federation for fighting forest fires. This was stated by the head of the group of the Center for social monitoring of the popular front for problems of ecology and forest protection in the Irkutsk region Sergey Apanovich on the sidelines of the onf conference on ecology and forest protection, held in Irkutsk.

According to him, “today at roughly the same rate receive funds to conduct fire prevention and fire regions with large areas of forests, and regions, almost no problems with forest fires”.
“The budget is unevenly distributed. In any case, priority must be done where may be the most hazardous situations,” said Apanovich.
Held in Irkutsk onf conference on ecology and forest protection involved more than 300 people. Among them civil society activists, environmentalists, Federal and regional experts of the popular front for the protection of forests from Siberia and the Far East, representatives of the profile ministries and departments, regional authorities and journalists.
The proposal to hold a conference on ecology and forest protection, was announced at the meeting of the President of Russia, leader of the popular front of Vladimir Putin with activists of the popular front on November 27, 2015.
