Rosaviatsia: airlines of the Russian Federation in January 2016 have reduced the carriage of passengers by 6.1%


MOSCOW, February 25. Russian airlines in January 2016 moved 5,54 million passengers, which is 6.1% less than in January 2015, follows from the data published on the website of the Federal air transport Agency (Rosaviatsia).

In particular, international traffic in January decreased by 26.3%, to 2 million passengers, whereas in the segment of domestic traffic saw an increase by 11.1% to 3.53 million people.

The passenger turnover of Russian airlines in January 2016 fell by 13.3% – to 13 million 692 thousand passenger-kilometers. On international routes, this figure dropped by 23.4% to 7 million 528 thousand passenger-kilometers, while the segment of domestic traffic rose 3.4% to 6 million 164 thousand passenger-kilometers.

Transportation of cargo and mail in January 2016 demonstrated growth of 11.5% to 78.1 thousand tons. International transport of goods increased by 15,9% to 64.2 thousand tons, domestic freight decreased by 5.2% to 13.8 thousand tons.
