The Russian foreign Ministry: Moscow is concerned by reports from the USA of plan B on Syria


MOSCOW, February 25. Moscow nothing is known about the U.S. “plan B” on Syria. This was stated by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov at the conference of the discussion club “Valdai”, “the middle East: from violence to safety.”

“The concern of the US about the existence of a “plan B”. To us nothing is known about him, – he stressed. – We are convinced that now we have to concentrate all efforts on the implementation of the agreements reached in the ceasefire”.

“There is reason for optimism: agreement on ceasefire in case of their implementation can become an example of joint actions by the international community,” the diplomat added.

“Now, we have approached the moment of truth – the ceasefire,” – said Deputy foreign Minister of the Russian Federation. He noted that the U.S. and Russia expressed readiness to share responsibility for the actions of the parties. According to Bogdanov, Russia “is doing all it can to Damascus and expects that will do the same USA with other parties to the conflict”.
