Moscow. February 24. X5 Retail Group, managing Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Karusel, has launched a pilot project of the network of stores specializing in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The project is directed on satisfaction of inquiries of buyers “pjaterochki” in the stores with augmented matrix drinks, said the representative of the X5.
Stores open under the guise of “Patinize”, their area is up to 100 meters, they opened near the shop “Pyaterochka”.
Since December, the X5 has opened four pilot stores in Moscow and St. Petersburg, within the framework of the pilot will open 10-15 stores.
Further decisions on network development will be taken after analysis of the pilot project in mid-2016.
X5 Retail Group is the second largest sales retailer in Russia. By the end of 2015 X5’s revenues increased by 27.3% to 804,13 billion. At the end of December the company’s network combined 7,02 thousand shops, including 6,265 thousand stores “roundabout”, 478 Perekrestok supermarkets, 90 hypermarkets “Karusel” and 187 stores “Express”.
The stores “Pyaterochka” – the key format of X5, which brings the retailer’s main revenue. By the end of 2015 revenue “pjaterochki” has grown on 34,3%, to 585,4 billion.
